Lead-Safe Inspections / Lead Dust Test
Our company conducts Lead safe inspections. Lead safe means that a dwelling, dwelling unit, or premises either contains no lead or contains lead in such condition and location that does not result in a lead source health hazard, as determined by the Bureau of Health. By conducting our lead dust inspections and testing we can identify unseen lead hazards in pre-1978 housing. Testing can also confirm that lead dust levels are safe following a renovation or repainting job.

Philadelphia Lead Paint Disclosure and Certification Law
In 2012, the City Code was amended to include the Lead Paint Disclosure and Certification Law. The law requires owners of properties built before 1978 and rented to households with children 6 years or younger to provide the tenant with certification prepared by a dust wipe technician stating that the property is either lead-safe or lead-free. Landlords are required to test and certify rental properties as lead-safe or lead-free, regardless of a child’s age, in order to:

Receive or renew a rental license.

Norristown Township Lead Hazard Control Ordinance
Beginning January 1, 2022, lead paint inspections (for buildings built before 1978) will be required for all rental properties, child day-care centers, condemned buildings, and for property transfers. The Norristown Lead Poisoning Prevention & Lead Hazard Control Ordinance applies to any landlord who rents a property in Norristown that was built before 1978. Beginning January 1, 2022, rental units will have to certify as lead-free or lead-safe.
